I am among the cult following for Shel Silverstein's witty, loving and soulful musings but was very surprised to learn what an influential songwriter he's been! Big time, we're talking for legends like Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and Bobby Bare etc etc. The album Twistable, Turnable Man is due out June 8th and produced by Bobby Bare Sr. and Bobby Bare Jr. It looks over the top rad, featuring a fancy line-up of artists paying tribute to the songs of Silverstein. I am super excited to have this be the soundtrack to our summer road trip we take as a family! Our kids are huge Silverstein fans (as we are ourselves, of course). The album art is a little strange, wondering if that is original or new... ha! Speaking of record stores too, that is one of our favorite activities as a family, searching for new music and suggesting different albums. My daughter was really excited when she 'discovered' the Dandy Warhols 'Welcome to the Monkey House' (the Banana album cover) and declared, "Look! This one's good for you!
