Community Building

From Amsterdam to Bocchignano, New York to Tel Aviv, cavities and cracks in the urban landscape have been getting some love from Legos. The social art project, Dispatchwork, led by artist Jan Vormann who, accompanied by volunteers of all ages, fills in the blanks with the colorful building blocks.  Results or 'repairs' are simple and stunning. I am most excited about the latest section added to the site, Dispatches Worldwide --> You're encouraged to do some repairs yourself around your own neighborhood, perhaps in your own backyard to fill in a gap in your planter box like one woman did from Sydney. Check it out, make it a project, send in the results!

Crafting Community

The Art of Exchange is a very special offering, above and beyond unique. Hosted by artist Karen Kimmel, it's an inspiring opportunity to share an experience with your family over the course of a two day creative retreat at the Ace Hotel and Swim Club focused on the reuse and repurpose of natural materials in art.
